Journalist Ciaran Kelly has revealed that there shouldn’t be any issues in contract talks between Newcastle United and Isaac Hayden.
The Chronicle reporter shared that the Magpies’ midfielder has been left encouraged by summer business in the North East, and has started to enjoy working with Steve Bruce since he took over from Rafael Benitez.
Kelly admitted that both him and Fabian Schar are happy being at the club this season and that he doesn’t foresee any problems in discussions surrounding new deals.
“I do not foresee there being many issues and Fabian Schar and Isaac Hayden, for example, are both happy at St James’ Park,” he wrote in a Q&A on the Chronicle website.
“Hayden, of course, had his doubts previously but was encouraged by the business Newcastle did in the summer and has enjoyed working with Steve Bruce again.”
The 24-year-old started the first seven games of the season in the Premier League but is currently midway through a three-game suspension after picking up a red card against Leicester City.

The former Arsenal man has established himself as a key part of the Magpies’ squad, and Bruce has certainly played a big part in helping him enjoy his football once again. The 24-year-old has impressed in the heart of midfield over the past couple of seasons and has been one of the standout players in the North East. Newcastle would be smart to tie down Hayden to a new deal, and all the signs appear to be positive for the future.
