Carlisle United may have struggled to score against Forest Green on Tuesday night, their clash ended 0-0, but their lack of goals didn’t see Carlisle boss Steven Pressley opt to utilise Newcastle United loanee Elias Sorensen. The 20-year-old Magpies is currently on loan with Carlisle and his latest snub didn’t go down well with some Newcastle fans. One supporter dubbed Sorensen’s loan move a “shambles” while one even urged the club to recall him. However, while some were dismayed at the League 2 club snubbing the youngster on Tuesday, some ended up questioning the young centre-forward. One fan suggested that the 20-year-old possibly wasn’t good enough and considering he has only played 113 minutes of league action this season, as per Transfermarkt, and had a terrible brief loan spell at Blackpool last season when he managed to feature only once, that supporter may have a point. Hopefully, Sorensen is able to get some game time in the coming week as after being prolific for the Magpies’ U-23s, he has scored 16 goals in 27 game, you do feel there was hope around St James Park that he could be a future star for the club.
