Whoever is in charge of the Sky Sports social account was seemingly determined to wind Newcastle fans up today. 

After losing Rafa Benitez over the summer and replacing him with Steve Bruce, fans weren’t expecting much from this season, especially after a potential takeover involving the BZG didn’t happen.

And Newcastle haven’t delivered, losing both of their opening Premier League games and sitting inside the bottom three.

Worse, bookies have made them favourites for the drop after a load of money came flooding in from punters. Bruce is also the favourite to be the first Premier League manager to get the sack.

To cap it all off, there have been complaints from players with Yoshinori Muto saying he felt isolated against Norwich and Paul Dummett saying that the team didn’t feel right from the warm-up in their last game.

The Sky Sports post headed a piece that asked leading journalists whether Bruce was to blame and there wasn’t much succour there for fans either.

Daily Mail Football Editor Ian Ladyman said the players weren’t good enough for the Premier League, while the Telegraph’s Chief Football Writer Sam Wallace said, “It may sound harsh but he [Bruce] was the unpopular choice of an unpopular owner.”
