Talks between Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain defender Stanley N’Soki have ended, according to journalist Loic Tanzi.
The RMC Sport reported revealed that although the Magpies had reached an agreement with the French giants, they couldn’t do the same with the player.
Tanzi reported on his personal Twitter account that the 20-year-old full-back who can also play in the heart of defence is set for “other tracks.”

Newcastle were reported by RMC Sport to have agreed to a £9.9million deal for N’Soki, in an agreement that included a 20% sell-on clause, for a player that only managed to make 14 appearances in all competitions last season.

There isn’t much of a surprise to this news, with many recent reports regarding Newcastle and their talks with N’Soki being negative. Get French Football News reported that talks were on the verge of breaking down and it appears that the 20-year-old has become fed up with the way negotiations were going, hence the collapse in any deal. After the Magpies completed a move for Jetro Willems from Eintracht Frankfurt, the need for a left-back significantly lowered and N’Soki would not be guaranteed first-team football every week in the Premier League. N’Soki only averaged 1.7 tackles per game and 1.5 clearances [WhoScored] and would have needed to have get used to English football very quickly, with a place in the Newcastle defence being much different to sitting at the back for Paris Saint-Germain. N’Soki could have come unstuck when playing for a side that have to do significantly more defending at St James’ Park – something that Willems will more likely be used to in his career.
