OPINION
Sean Longstaff was by no means one of the best players for Newcastle United in their 1-0 win against Tottenham on Sunday but the midfielder played a vital role in the getting the three points for his side. Manchester United were linked with Longstaff for a lot of the summer transfer window and according to ESPN, the Premier League giants are still interested in signing the central midfielder at some point in the future – even though he is valued at £50million by the Magpies. It is not a shock to see a section of Man United fans on Twitter so torn over Longstaff. On one hand he is a young English player who lacks experience and is tipped to have a great future in the game. However on the other, it is hard to see that potential when he is playing for a team who had to have their backs to the wall for most of their match against Tottenham. It’s fair to have doubts about Longstaff but over time, those who are doubting him will probably start to have their minds changed.
