Paris Saint-Germain defender Moussa Sissako has a four-year contract on the table from Newcastle United and Brighton, according to French journalist Loic Tanzi.
The reporter, who works for French outlet RMC, stated on Twitter that the 6ft tall centre-back [Source: Transfermarkt] was currently deciding which contract to accept.
Loic Tanzi also added that the player should reach a decision soon as he claimed Sissako could make his choice in the next few hours.
“The defender is between Newcastle and Brighton. Everything should be decided in the next few hours. 4-year contract in both clubs,” wrote Tanzi, via his verified Twitter account.

Given that The Sun previously claimed on August 1st that the Magpies were in talks with PSG over the 18-year-old centre-back, it makes sense that talks have progressed to a stage where it’s up to the player to decide his future. When you consider that Sissako is a young defender, he’ll likely pick the club where he is more likely to break into the first-team sooner rather than later. This means it’s hard to tell whether he’ll opt for the Magpies or Brighton at this stage. Steve Bruce’s squad does contain a lot of talented centre-backs, for example, Fabian Schar, Federico Fernandez, Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Florian Lejeune, but the path from the academy to the first-team may look more appealing than Brighton’s. After all with Bruce utilising a lot of the Magpies’ youngsters in pre-season, for example, Matty Longstaff, and Sean Longstaff being given a run in the team last season, then they may tempt Sissako into arriving at St James Park. While the teenager has never appeared for PSG’s senior team, he made four appearances for the club’s U-19s in the UEFA Youth League last season, he clearly has somehow managed to catch the eye of the Magpies’ scouts.
