Stan Collymore has delivered his prediction for Newcastle United’s game with Norwich City on Saturday.

The pundit has predicted that the travelling Magpies will fall to a 2-1 defeat at Carrow Road, which would see Steve Bruce lose his first two Premier League games in charge of the club.

Collymore took to his personal Twitter account to make his prediction and backed the newly-promoted Canaries to secure their first three points in the top-flight this season.

Both clubs failed to pick up points on the opening weekend, with Newcastle losing 1-0 at home to Arsenal whereas Norwich were picked apart at Anfield, losing 4-1 against Liverpool.

OPINION

Newcastle’s opening day defeat to Arsenal obviously hasn’t filled Collymore with much hope for Bruce’s side. They may have only lost by the one goal against the Gunners, but Newcastle didn’t create many chances, and if they set up in a similar formation on Saturday they could get picked apart. Norwich may have conceded four goals against the European champions, but they definitely caused them many problems on the attack, with players such as Emi Buendia and Teemu Pukki finding plenty of space in the attacking third. Liverpool just about survived at times in that game, and Newcastle aren’t exactly known for their defensive strength, and should they not stand firm, they could easily concede plenty of goals on the road. With Allan Saint-Maximin not expected to start in the game, their main attacking threat could be absent, making it even harder for the Magpies to create opportunities. At times Joelinton and Miguel Almiron were isolated in the opener, and Bruce cannot afford for the same thing to happen this time around.
