Steve Bruce has sanctioned a possible loan exit for Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy this week, according to Football Insider.
The reputable football outlet claim that Bruce does not regard Murphy as a key part of his plans next season, with the 24-year-old set for his second Championship loan spell in the space of a year.
Football Insider report that the arrival of Allan Saint-Maximin at St James’ Park has pushed the winger down the pecking order under Bruce and the player himself would consider a move to earn regular football.
The Sun journalist Phil Cadden revealed on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday that Fulham, Derby County, Huddersfield Town, and Sheffield Wednesday were all interested.

Bruce appears to be making all the right moves during his first month at Newcastle, and by the looks of this deal, he isn’t afraid to make big calls. Murphy will surely have been returning to the Magpies this summer after his spell at West Brom hoping for a second chance in the North East, but the truth is – he doesn’t deserve that chance one little bit. Murphy made little to no impact at the Baggies last season, and a move to Championship next season could surely be his last chance to impress – with another poor year surely enough for Bruce to cut ties with the winger. Murphy made 15 appearances in the Championship and only scored twice despite averaging 1.5 shots per game at the Hawthorns [WhoScored]. Murphy also only achieved a 65.1% passing success rate – proving he failed to consistently set up chances for his teammates frequently enough. There will be no excuses should Murphy fail again, with his loan spells potentially being at clubs expected to challenge towards the top of the Championship and sides which love to play attacking football surely a big enough incentive for him to perform.
