Newcastle United striker Ayoze Perez is undergoing his medical at Leicester City, according to Sky Sports.
The Spaniard is set for a move to the King Power Stadium after the Foxes had a bid of £30million accepted after meeting his minimum release clause.
Perez had attracted previous interest from La Liga, with Valencia reportedly wanting the 25-year-old at the beginning of the transfer window.
The £45,000 per-week ace [Spotrac] finished the last Premier League as the club’s top scorer and scored 48 goals in his 195 appearances for the North East side.
Newcastle are set for a big profit on Perez, who arrived at St James’ Park in 2014 for only £1.5million.

OPINION
This move has seemed to pick up pace very quickly and should be completed before the end of the week. It comes as no surprise that the Spaniard is set to quit St James’ Park after Rafael Benitez’ departure, with early reports suggesting the 25-year-old could start a summer exodus – something Newcastle fans will be desperate to not happen. Perez was central to every Newcastle positive when going forward last season, and formed a great partnership with Salomon Rondon and Miguel Almiron. The Spanish youth international will be a massive miss at the club he has been at for five years, especially when you look at his stats via WhoScored. Perez scored 28.57% of the Magpies’ goals last season after averaging 1.5 shots-per-game. The only positive surrounding the deal is the reported £28.5million profit they are set to pocket. That profit will only be benefitial should Mike Ashley put that back into transfers this summer, with the need for reinforcements now growing even bigger.
