The reliable journalist claimed via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday night that the Foxes are close to signing Perez and it is understood that the 25-year-old could even undergo a medical with the East Midlands club at some point this week.
Leicester City could be close to making their next signing. They're keen to bring in Ayoze Pérez from Newcastle United and the Spaniard is believed to be in advanced talks, possibly even having a medical this week #lcfc #nufc

The Spanish attacker was in good form for Newcastle in the second half of last season but only has two more years left remaining on his contract at St James’ Park and it would appear as though the Magpies are prepared to cash in on the former Tenerife player.
First the hopes of signing Salomon Rondon all but died, then Rafa Benitez left, and now it seems that Perez is also heading towards the exit doors at St James’ Park. It would be completely baffling if Mike Ashley wasn’t the man who owns Newcastle United because the decision-making in the hierarchy has been laughable and nothing is a surprise any more. Perez played some of his best football for Newcastle in the second half of last season and it will be a massive blow to see him leave the club and head to a Premier League rival like Leicester. It remains to be seen what kind of fee the Magpies will receive for the Spanish attacker but it’s unlikely to be a massive amoung because of the player being in the last 24 months of his contract. It would see that Ashley would rather cash in now while his stock is high rather than offer him a new contract and risk that his form will drop back down to what it was in 2018.
