Newcastle United’s summer could be about to go from utterly terrible to a downright nightmare after it was reported by talkSPORT host Geoff Peters that Leicester are in advanced talks to sign Ayoze Perez. According to Peters, the 25-year-old Toon ace could even undergo a medical with the Foxes this week. It is not hard to see why so many Newcastle fans are raging over the transfer claim because Perez was one of their best players last season, especially in the last few months of the campaign when he scored eight goals in the last nine matches of the 2018/19 Premier League. Rafa Benitez has left St James’ Park, Salomon Rondon is unlikely to return, Sean Longstaff is a reported target for Manchester United and there has been such little coverage of the potential takeover that it seems to be dead in the water. Newcastle fans are worried and it is not a surprise at all. Unless things pick up soon, the Magpies could be preparing for life in the Championship this time next year for a third time under Mike Ashley’s ownership.
Leicester City could be close to making their next signing. They're keen to bring in Ayoze Pérez from Newcastle United and the Spaniard is believed to be in advanced talks, possibly even having a medical this week #lcfc #nufc

They’re doing what we did to Ryan Taylor. Stop him from scoring goals past us by buying him…
He wants to go to Spain anyway. Think I’ll never recover seeing Perez play for another PL club.

Hahaha, selling Perez to a premier league rival(?) – he’s literally making as much money as he can before we’re sold #nufc

#NUFC lose Rondon and Ayoze Perez. Basically all of our goals from last season gone and you know they won’t pay for replacements. It’s ok though we’ve got Joselu. Ashley is determined to kill this team eh?

Presuming this Perez to Leicester deal is true, it shows how quickly a well run club can put together a deal. Lightyears away from our shambles of an outfit #nufc

What an absolute laughing stock our club has become.! Any prospective buyer must be having massive second thoughts.!

Perez off now too. Possibly Longstaff. I’ve never felt this low and hopeless about #NUFC. Everything about the club seems so pointless.
— Dean Johnson (@DeanJohnson32) July 2, 2019
Rafa is gone
Longstaff and Perez likely to go
No chance of getting Rondon
Ashley probs staying
Do i care? Not at all. Sheer apathy toward what used to be my club #nufc
— Iain Deighton (@Iain_Deighton) July 2, 2019
Don’t even blame Perez for leaving. Blatantly obvious that ambition is pointless at #nufc. Ashley’s killed this club
