Rodney Marsh responded to Steve Bruce claiming he is in charge of transfers at Newcastle United by saying bless in a sarcastic way.
The new Magpies’ boss held his first press conference before the Premier League Asia Trophy match against West Ham on Saturday, revealing he is no puppet and will have the final say of any potential deals (Source: BBC Sport).
Marsh couldn’t help but respond to the claim on his personal Twitter account, with the pundit simply writing, “Bless.”

Bruce was appointed as manager of his boyhood club on Wednesday, with the Sun claiming that Mike Ashley had paid Sheffield Wednesday ÂŁ4million to secure his, Stephen Clemence, and Steve Agnew’s services.
OPINION
Marsh has a clear tendency to stick his nose in the business of other people where he is isn’t needed. Bruce has come into the job at St James’ Park with a clear determination to make people know that it is him in charge and that no one else will have a say in the matter. Ashley has been known to be strict with his transfer policies regarding the signing of younger players, but Bruce seems certain that he has been given permission to have full control, something he surely wouldn’t have done if it hadn’t been discussed with the owner. Marsh takes a hint of sarcasm with his response, with his remark surely a warning to Bruce, with the pundit possibly believing that the 58-year-old doesn’t know what he has got himself into in the North East, boyhood club or not. The truth is that Marsh is not needed in this situation, with his claims unjustified, especially after the Northern Echo revealed that Bruce had sanctioned a Magpies move for Hoffenheim striker Joelinton. Time will only tell, but it’s doubtful that Bruce will lose any sleep over this one.
