The official Sky Bet account opted to share a throwback clip with the aim of making Newcastle United fans emotional, and it’s fair to say it worked on some. The Sky account posted a clip of ‘Rafa Ball’ in action during the Magpies title-winning campaign in the Championship during the 2016/17 season. The clip was from the Magpies’ 3-0 win over Ipswich Town in October 2016, and showed practically every Magpies player touching the ball before Ayoze Perez blasted it into the back of the net. It’s fair to say it was a beautiful goal to watch, and one that only made Magpies long for Rafa Benitez even more. The Magpies previously confirmed that the Spanish boss was set to leave the club upon his contract expiring on June 30th, today, and maybe that sort of excellent football won’t be seen for a while. The clip may have been from the Magpies’ brief stint in the Championship, but it shouldn’t undermine what a brilliant bit of football it was. This fact wasn’t lost on the Magpies fans below, as one shared they had started to cry; while others claimed it was too soon to be watching this.
