OPINION
According to Football Insider, Newcastle United are in pursuit of young Norwich goalkeeper Jon McCracken, and as you may have guessed, some supporters on Twitter are very sceptical. It is yet to be confirmed whether Rafa Benitez will be in charge next season so any players who are being linked with the Tyneside club right now might not be wanted by whoever succeeds the popular Spaniard in the St James’ Park hotseat. Newcastle will no doubt be continuing to eye up potential signings and sound out their availability for whoever is in charge by the time July 1 comes around and McCracken, 19, is someone who is reportedly being looked at. Not much is known about the 19-year-old Norwich shot-stopper, but one thing is for sure, Newcastle do not need any more goalkeepers. Martin Dubravka is first-choice and behind him in the pecking order are Karl Darlow, Rob Elliot and Freddie Woodman. To make signing McCracken worthwhile, Newcastle need to get rid of at least two of them.

Is he better than Woodman? Don’t think so. Why buy another GK unless he’s happy to staying in the reserves
