Manchester United are ready to meet Newcastle United’s valuation of midfielder Sean Longstaff, according to the Metro.
The newspaper claimed on their website that the Magpies value the 21-year-old maestro at £30million and that the Red Devils were ready to stretch their initial £25million valuation in order to get a deal done.
The Metro report that Longstaff was keen to stay at St James’ Park in the summer, but the departure of Rafael Benitez has led to him considering his future in the North East.
Manchester United are now said to be confident that they can take advantage of Benitez’ dismissal to strike a deal.

It seems to be a continuous loop of bad news at the moment for Newcastle fans. They may have been able to get over the fact that Benitez was dismissed, but to possibly lose their most valuable youngster at the club because of that – the pain could take a lot longer to heal. The 21-year-old will hold a debt of gratitude to the Spaniard after he put great faith in him to offer the opportunity which he took with both hands. Longstaff quickly became a mainstay for the Magpies, and one of their most influential figures besides Isaac Hayden. Longstaff kept Jonjo Shelvey out of the first-team frame during his stint, outperforming the England international by averaging more tackles, interceptions, and blocks in the heart of the side. The fact that their valuation is only £5million higher than Newcastle’s only highlights how easy it will be to tempt him to Old Trafford.
