OPINION
Here’s a surprise, there are some Newcastle United fans who find a transfer report to be believable. According to Sky Sports, the Magpies are interested in Real Salt Lake attacker Jefferson Savarino and will have a scout watch over the 22-year-old when he plays for Venezuela in their Copa America showdown against Brazil on Wednesday. Sky reports that Savarino could be available for £6million, so there is definitely good reason for Newcastle supporters on Twitter to keep an eye on this one. Savarino is Venezuelan, like Salomon Rondon, and plays in MLS, like Miguel Almrion did before he was snapped up in January. Savarino is also young at 22 and could be a cheap addition, so you can see why some Magpies fans are interested in this report. Obviously, not all fans can be pleased though. The standard “who” replay has reared it’s ugly head here. It says more about the person saying it than the player in question.
