OPINION
Newcastle United fans have been going through the motions lately with the ongoing situation regarding the futures of both Rafa Benitez and Mike Ashley, but it does appear as though the Spaniard is now considering his options as his contract at St James’ Park enters it’s final two weeks. According to Sky Sports, Benitez has been offered a massive £12million-a-year deal to manage Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang, and it would appear that he is taking it seriously. It is understood that Benitez is “considering” the offer from China, and that has put some Newcastle fans in a sombre mood. It would seem a few have given up on keeping the Spanish manager, with one suggesting that it’s game over. While it is hard to not feel let down by this update, it is worth pointing out that nothing has been set in stone yet and there is still time for Benitez to put pen to paper on a fresh deal at St James’ Park.
