Tottenham have made a bid for Newcastle United attacker Ayoze Perez in the region of £24.5million, according to Calcio Napoli

The outlet claims that the North London club have made the eight-figure offer to Newcastle for the Spaniard, whose contract is still due to carry on at St. James’ Park until 2021. (Source: Transfermrkt)

Calcio Napoli report that the transfer could rely on the future of Mauricio Pochettino, who is a real advocate of Perez, after trying to sign him previously three years ago.

Napoli are another club who are thought to be interested in the £45,000-per week attacker (Source: Spotrac), according to the outlet.

OPINION

Perez has been impressive for a number of seasons now for Newcastle, however it may prove to be a real blow for Rafa Benitez should this move come to fruition, as it could leave him with seriously limited attacking options as the new Premier League season slowly approaches. The Spaniard has featured 41 times for the Magpies in all competitions this season, and has registered 13 goals and four assists, proving exactly why he is one of Newcastle’s best attacking threats on a match-day. Arguably, Newcastle could do without losing the forward this window, as it could leave them clutching at straws to bring someone in as a replacement before the start of the season, especially considering all of the other things going on at the club. This summer window could prove to be a complicated one for the Magpies and Benitez, and losing Perez would only add to the stress currently going on at the club.
