Maurizio Sarri has shed light on the potential future of Chelsea’s loan players, as the Italian opened up about his thoughts on the collection of players loaned out by Chelsea this campaign.

This could potentially be damning news for Newcastle United loanee Kenedy, after Sarri suggested that there were only a couple of the 41 players Chelsea have loaned out this season, that he would be willing to consider for his squad next season.

“There are two or three players who have been out on loan this season who are interesting,” Sarri said ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday, as seen in the Shields Gazette.

“I do not want to name names now. But the level they have been playing at must be considered.”

Amongst Chelsea’s many loanees this season are the likes of Tammy Abraham and Reece James, who have both performed well on their respective loan spells in the Championship with Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic, with Abraham scoring 25 goals for Villa and James instrumental in Wigan’s escape from relegation danger.

Contrast their form to Kenedy’s this season and the Brazilian looks to be struggling to make a bid to get into Sarri’s plans ahead of his second season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Kenedy was re-signed on loan by Rafa Benitez last summer after impressing during a loan spell in the second of last season, but he has made less of an impact this term making 24 appearances in the Premier League and scoring and assisting just one goal, which is a decline from the two goals and two assists he managed in just 13 appearances last season.

Given Kenedy’s form this campaign it is thought that Newcastle would not be interested in pursuing a permanent deal for the Brazilian, especially if Benitez remains in charge at St James’ Park next season.

The Brazilain will return to Stamford Bridge this summer and hope to become part of Sarri’s plans, but he maybe disappointed given the Italian’s comments about his thoughts on most of Chelsea’s loanees.

It looks likely that Kenedy will have to find another new club next summer, with both Newcastle and Chelsea likely to move on without the Brazilian in their respective plans.
