Salomon Rondon has taken to social media to send a message to fans amid rumours that he may not be returning to Newcastle United in the summer.

The 29-year-old has reportedly been linked with a move away from West Brom in the summer transfer window, with Wolves emerging as one of the main candidates to win his signature according to The Express & Star.

However, Rondon has since sent a message to fans on social media addressing the situation from his personal Instagram account, uploading a picture to his story captioned: “Let them talk!!!!…

“You stay focus…”

In the eyes of the Newcastle fans, this can only come as good news, and it only adds fuel to the fire in what is building up to be an interesting summer transfer window.

After all of the rumours suggesting that the 29-year old could be on his way to Wolves next season, this story could suggest otherwise, which will give the Magpies’ fans some hope that he could potentially make his return to St. James’ Park next season.

Although manager Rafa Benitez doesn’t quite have his contract sorted as of yet, which means that it is unlikely that any players will be incoming at the club anytime soon, the Newcastle fans can have renewed hope over the future whereabouts of the player.

Rondon has registered eleven goals and seven assists in the Premier League this season for Newcastle since his loan spell from West Brom, but the striker will no doubt be looking for a more permanent move in the summer, especially considering the Baggies didn’t manage promotion back to the Premier League through the play-offs.

It seems that the striker has inadvertently shut down rumours of a move to Wolves, or at least halted them for a little while, which could potentially be good news for Newcastle fans.
