YouTube-famous Newcastle United fan True Geordie has ripped into DeAndre Yedlin, saying that the right-back is “dumb” after he gave away a crucial penalty against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Luka Milivojevic scored Palace’s winner from the penalty spot after Yedlin fouled Wilfried Zaha in the second-half of the action at St James’ Park.
True Geordie did not hold back from criticising the USA international after Milivojevic converted the spot-kick.
“Yedlin is dumb. He makes Jordan Pickford look like a ******* brain surgeon,” True Geordie said on his official YouTube channel [2:14:40] on Saturday.

Yedlin has been a real liability at times for Newcastle and if Rafa Benitez is still in charge in the summer, he really needs to try and strengthen that area of the squad. Yedlin has bags of pace and can, on the occasion, cause some issues for opposing defenders. However he is caught out too many times by making avoidable mistakes, like the one against Crystal Palace on Saturday. Everyone knows that Zaha goes down easily inside the penalty box – there’s a reason why Milivojevic has scored 10 penalties this season. However Yedlin forgot that the tricky Eagles forward has the ability to win fouls from nothing, and that cost Newcastle a point this weekend. The Magpies are all but safe from relegation this season, but that should not cover up the fact that this team has gone backwards in the last 12 months, even though they did sign Miguel Almiron for a club record fee in the summer.
