Newcastle United defender Florian Lejeune provided an update on his injury comeback on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday, revealing that his operation was a success. He will now work to recover from his second serious injury in the past year. The Magpies faithful are understandably keen for the Frenchman to recover properly and return to first team action as soon as possible. He’s been a big player for Rafael Benitez’s side since coming back into the team, performing excellently and forming a solid centre back trio with Fabian Schar and Jamaal Lascelles at the heart of the Newcastle defence. He’s a quality player, but there has to be concerns about his ability to stay fit at this point. The fact is that certain players are more susceptible to injuries than others and you worry that that could be the case for Lejeune. Hopefully that doesn’t turn out to be true and he has just been unlucky, but for now all he needs to do is focus on making another successful comeback.
