Newcastle United youngster Deese Kasinga-Madia is currently on trial at Championship side Ipswich Town, according to TWTD.

The Ipswich Town news outlet, who are one of the most reputed sources covering the club, state that the 18-year-old winger featured for the Tractor Boys’ under-23s on Thursday afternoon in their 2-1 win over Watford at the club’s academy training ground in the south east of England.

The Congo-born wide man joined the Magpies from Brentford in 2017, and is also reported to have recently spent time on trial at Championship leaders Norwich City as well.

OPINION

It’s never great when a young player fails to live up to his hype, and it would appear as if Newcastle United are fairly dead set on allowing Kasinga-Madia to leave the club. This is his second trial away from the club in quick succession, and if the Magpies had any intentions of keeping him you would assume that they would have put in more of an effort to keep hold of him. It’s arguable that even at 18, after years of youth football, it is still too early to tell if a player is good enough to cut it at the top level, but the general consensus would be that if you’re not making real progress by then then you probably aren’t destined for the top flight. The fact that Championship sides are taking an interest must be some cause for hope for the youngster, but as for his Premier league dreams, they might have to wait a little longer.
