OPINION
Newcastle United fans have been made to wait patiently to hear anything about a potential takeover but it seems that the latest reports are not doing much to impress them. The Chronicle have claimed that Mike Ashley is still open to selling in the summer and that he is working on offering potential buyers a new package to accept now the club are all but safe in the Premier League for another season. Understandably it has been met with plenty of scepticism on Twitter, especially after the Newcastle faithful have seen previous reported attempts from potential new owners end in nothing but disappointment. It seems that many believe the current man in charge is only leaking such information to avoid spending any money in the summer transfer window and while there is no way to tell whether that is true or not, you can understand why there is not much faith in something happening. It does seem like Ashley wants out of St James’ Park but there has been little movement on him making his way out the door any time soon. Maybe that will change now the Magpies are safe.
