Some Newcastle United fans might have forgotten about January signing Antonio Barreca until Wednesday when he took to Instagram to ask his loan club if they had forgotten about him. Barreca, 24, implied that he has been frustrated with his lack of game-time since joining the Magpies on loan from Monaco in the last transfer window. He has played just once for the North-East club when he came off the bench against Tottenham in early February, but has not made any of Rafa Benitez’s matchday squads since. It’s is easy to understand why Barreca is frustrated, but should he be speaking out like this on social media? Probably not. Some Newcastle fans are understandably unhappy with the Italian’s comments, with one even suggesting that his loan deal should be terminated. Benitez is not playing him, presumably because he is not good enough, and if he does have a bad attitude, then getting rid now might be a wise idea.
