Newcastle United chiefs will conduct new talks with Blackpool over Elias Sorensen’s loan spell, according to the Chronicle.

The newspaper reports on their website that the club have been left angry at the way the League One outfit have been treating their under-23s star, who was left out of the match day squad completely when they faced Southend United at the weekend.

The report adds that the Magpies sent a representative to cast an eye over the progress of the 19-year-old at the weekend, and stated how there has been no word from Blackpool to why they have dropped Sorensen five times since he joined.

OPINION

Poor Elias Sorensen. This loan move was meant to be an opportunity to develop his career after his blistering first half of the campaign with the Newcastle under-23s. It remains to be seen why he is being so overlooked by Blackpool, but it is no surprise that United are growing increasingly frustrated with them for not giving the youngster much of a chance. It is promising that Newcastle are to hold fresh talks with Blackpool over his loan spell though, as it will finally give them the chance to get some answers about why they are treating their player in such an unfair way. Blackpool may feel like he is not experienced enough to play him on a regular basis – so why did they agree to take him on loan in the first place? They knew that Newcastle decided on this in order to give Sorensen some senior game time, so it will be interesting to see what they say when the talks are held.
