“Life is perfect” – That is the message coming from Newcastle United shot stopper Martin Dubravka.

The goalkeeper has been a revelation between the sticks for the Magpies since his move back in the January transfer window – a move which was left until the final hours and minutes of the winter market – and his fine performances appear to have drawn him some admirers from elsewhere.

The Chronicle have reported that Dubravka has been watched by Italian giants Juventus and Premier League rivals Arsenal this season as they look to sign a new man to play in goal.

Replacing a Premier League legend like Petr Cech would be no easy feat but one which someone as ambitious as Dubravka would no doubt want to try, which is why fans might have been worried about him leaving St James’ Park sooner than they would have liked.

That was until the 30-year-old spoke about his life right now – and those three words will have the Toon Army bouncing.

Speaking to the Times, he said: “I was waiting for this opportunity all my life. I always believed in myself that this opportunity would come and it finally did.”

“It has changed my life, definitely. In my country also because the people can recognise me, more than before. They stop me to take a picture or do a signing. Life is perfect. What is there to say? Simple as.”

There is little doubting that Dubravka is loving playing regular first team football in England’s top flight and if that is what he wants then why would he think about leaving Newcastle to battle it out at Arsenal or Juventus?

He might be ambitious but he is also very down to earth and will no doubt recognise the importance of playing every game for his club at this stage of his career.

If he continues to impress as he has done then there will be big clubs sniffing around and making the promise of the number one shirt – for now he is being eyed up as backup.

For Dubravka, life at Newcastle is perfect – and he is the perfect man for Newcastle.
