Following the confirmed news on Newcastle United’s official Twitter account that under-23s striker Elias Sorensen had signed a new contract with the club that extends his stay for another three and a half years, it is clear to see that this section of fans are clearly excited by the prospect of the red-hot talent’s stay. He has scored 19 goals so far this season, so it comes as no surprise that one fan labelled the update as “brilliant news”. Other supporters have urged the club to start Sorensen in the first team more often, in particular replacing Joselu up front. He has been rather hopeless this season compared to Sorensen, so it makes a lot of sense why the fans want him in the team. Some may argue that he is not yet ready – but surely his goal tally speaks for itself? These supporters clearly want him starting, and it would not be surprise if other Newcastle fans did too.
