OPINION
Yohan Cabaye left Newcastle United in acrimonious circumstances in 2014, with the France international going on strike before pushing through a ‘dream’ move to Paris Saint-Germain. His actions upon his exit saw the midfielder go from hero to villain on Tyneside, where he had been adored for three seasons. It seems however that many fans are now willing to forgive and forget, with Cabaye suddenly becoming available on a free transfer after being released from his contract at Dubai club Al Nasr [Twitter]. The 33-year-old midfielder is now free to talk to any club as he negotiates his next move, with many Toon fans pushing for a sensational return to Tyneside. There is no doubt that Cabaye would help bolster their options in midfield, with his passing range a huge asset, so you can see why these fans are keen on a return.
