Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden is surely set to continue his nightmare of a time at St James Park after a report detailed Rafa Benitez stance regarding a potential exit for him.

The Daily Mail claimed that the Spanish manager would not allow Hayden to leave until Ki Sung-yueng returned from the Asia Cup and that an injury to Jonjo Shelvey meant that he might not let him go even then, unless a new recruit arrives.

Given that the Magpies are synonymous with acting slow in transfer windows and Shelvey’s injury sounds a concern given the Mail reveal he is going to see specialist, Hayden’s terrible time is surely on course to continue.

The 6ft 1in tall midfielder (Source: Transfermarkt) as the Daily Mail details still wants to leave St James Park for family reasons after previously handing in a transfer requested, as stated by the Chronicle, in the summer.

While Hayden is clearly unhappy at still being at the Magpies aside from that it’s been a nightmare for him on the pitch.

When the 23-year-old midfield anchor has been handed a rare opportunity to feature for Benitez’s side, it hasn’t exactly gone according to plan to say the least.

In fact out of the nine appearances Hayden has made this season across all competitions, only his outing against Watford bordered on being an acceptable display by him.

The midfielder has constantly struggled to have any form of positive impact on matches and at times looks devoid of motivation like he’d rather the ground swallowed him up.

Hayden’s outings against Arsenal, Manchester United and Saturday’s display against Blackburn Rovers were particular horror shows for him, and those performances suggested he would not truly be happy playing football until he got the exit he so desperately seeks.

However it seems the midfielder should get used to experiencing a nightmare time until at the least the summer as Benitez’s stance on getting rid of him, casts a lot of doubt that the player will get the exit he needs.
