Newcastle were hit with heartbreak on Sunday as Wolves hit them with a very late winner in a 2-1 loss at St James’ Park. And what a surprise that Javier Manquillo has been blasted by the fans. They seem to have it in for him whenever he plays, but that’s his own fault for not being able to perform. He didn’t even play the full match – he came on for Federico Fernandez at half time – but the supporters were quick to turn on him. One said he was the “worst excuse for a footballer” that they had ever seen, while one remarked how he was not even good enough to play at Sunday League level. It is hard not to agree with the first one here, as Manquillo was just diabolical at the weekend. It is clear that he is far down the pecking order seeing as he only came on when DeAndre Yedlin got sent off, but when he is called upon in times like that, he needs to step up to the plate – something which he clearly did not do if these tweets are anything to go by.
