Netflix’s UK & Ireland Twitter account calmly posted the new trailer for their new documentary series on Sunderland and before they knew it several Newcastle United fans had hijack their tweet in order to rejoice at their local rivals expensive. The streaming service confirmed that ‘Sunderland ‘Till I Die’ would be uploaded on December 14 and several Magpies fans swiftly added it to their Christmas TV viewing plans, with one sarcastically claiming they didn’t need the Queen’s speech anymore. Others opted to be more open with why they were looking forward to watching a programme about their local rivals, as one amusingly questioning what Netflix meant about ‘heroics’ as Sunderland had suffered back to back relegations. It’s easy to see why Magpies fans were quick to share their joy over a Netflix documentary being shown as it was focusing on arguably the worst time their rivals had experienced in their history and the trailer showed lot of upset fans raging at their team’s struggles.
