It might seem strange to insist that Kenedy’s Newcastle United loan should be made permanent amid his indifferent start to the season, but it’s vital that the club tie him down in January.

It seems pretty clear that the Brazilian will never be a first team fixture at Chelsea, whereas he is one of Rafael Benitez’s key men at Newcastle.

His form has been erratic this campaign, but he’s shown at times that he can be the game changing winger that the Magpies need him to be. The impact that he had on the team after his arrival in January was huge and the possibility of him finding that sort of form again is tantalising.

He remains the most productive wideman on Tyneside. Matt Ritchie works hard on the right flank but he’s not what you could call a flair player, while Christian Atsu and Jacob Murphy have been dreadful when they’ve played this season.

Kenedy is unpredictable, certainly, but that can work in Newcastle’s favour. He is pacy and skilful, although his final product could be improved.

However, the main reason why it is imperative that Benitez signs the 22-year-old permanently in January is that his signing would allow the club to make another domestic loan.

The club already have two players – Kenedy and Salomon Rondon – borrowed from English clubs, meaning that they can loan no more at this moment in time.

However, signing Kenedy permanently would allow them to do so, and would enable the club to make a loan move for the player that the Chronicle described as Benitez’s ideal January signing: Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

It’s unlikely that Chelsea will sell the England international, meaning that a loan is Newcastle’s best bet. The 22-year-old is exactly the sort of player that the Magpies need, and Kenedy’s signing could help make a move possible.

Newcastle need to consider bringing the Brazilian in permanently in order to find some wiggle room in terms of loans, if they do then they could end up with their perfect January signing.
