The forward line is no doubt one of the positions that Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez would like to strengthen in the January transfer window.

With striker Salomon Rondon finally proving to everyone why Benitez made the effort to bring him to St James’ Park in the first place, you would have thought that the manager is now resting a bit easier.

While that may be the case at the moment, that does not mean that United are not in need of an attacking midfielder who can provide service to Rondon on a regular basis.

One player Benitez must look to in January is Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira, who according to Yahoo Sport, is ready to quit the club in order to improve his chances of starring for the Brazil national team.

The 22-year-old is out of contract in 2020, and even though the club were reportedly hoping to extend his stay at Old Trafford, that does not seem to be the case now.

This is a situation that Benitez must leap on in the next transfer window, as securing his capture would make St James’ Park erupt.

United are in dire need of a player who can produce the magic in attack that would ensure goals on a regular basis – and the 5ft 10in [Transfermarkt] ace is just the player Newcastle need to provide that.

He has only made four Premier League appearances for the Red Devils this season, but at Newcastle, Benitez would be more than likely to guarantee him regular playing time that could give him more of a chance of playing for Brazil.

Attacking magician Pereira helped Valencia – the club he was on loan to last season – finish fourth in La Liga with his impressive displays.

Securing the capture of Pereira will ensure that Benitez is one step closer to completing the puzzle at Newcastle, much to the fans’ delight.
