Newcastle United must wrap up a deal to see Salomon Rondon permanently join them from West Bromwich Albion as it would allow them to loan another player from an English club in January.

The Northern Echo reported that the Magpies were considering turning the 29-year-old forward’s temporary loan deal into a permanent move for him in order to free up a slot for another temporary transfer in January.

As it stands Rafa Benitez cannot welcome any more players on loan from fellow English clubs due to Premier League sides being only allowed two domestic loans in their squad at one time.

The Magpies secured both Rondon and Kenedy’s services on a temporary basis, meaning that currently the loan market in England is off limits to Benitez.

The Spanish manager can still loan players from abroad in order to stretch his January transfer budget but it’s likely players who know the Premier League already would aid their cause more.

Given that Rondon, who earns £60,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac), has looked impressive in his last two outings and could be a very good signing if he continues to settle in at St James Park then it makes sense to acquire him permanently.

Yet while his capture would be good, just in terms of the Magpies having a long-term solution for their problems upfront, it’s necessary just to significantly boost Benitez options in January when looking to strengthen his side.

Several Premier League teams, particularly the top-six, have massive squads and fantastic academy’s brimming  with quality talent that could improve the Magpies’ current squad if loaned.

So when you consider the amount of players at Premier League clubs who may be made available for loan, the Magpies’ option when searching for recruits could be boosted by being able to add one of those players who fits the bill to their squad.

Therefore the Magpies look to sort a deal for Rondon as soon as possible in order to be able to scour the loan market in England to welcome a player who could not dent the budget too much and who could be exactly what the club need.
