St James Park would be left drooling if Newcastle United snapped up Borussia Dortmund playmaker Shinji Kagawa as he would transform their team.
According to Calciomercato the 29-year-old attacking midfielder’s future lays away from the German giants which means he would be available for a team to swoop in for him and acquire his services.
Kagawa may have only played five times for Borussia Dortmund this season, including 28 minutes in the Champions League, but he is an unbelievable talent who would excite Magpies fans if snapped up.
Given that the Chronicle reported that Rafa Benitez wanted to add a new No.10 to his squad in January, then why not Kagawa?
The 29-year-old’s talent suggest he may be out of reach of the Magpies’ budget but given that Borussia Dortmund are clearly willing to get rid then he might be actually available at a reasonable price.
Also Kagawa will no doubt put pressure of his current side to find him a new club in January especially if he is going to be starved of chances, which could aid any potential Magpies pursuit of him.
The 29-year-old is the type of player Benitez would love and is the sort of player the Magpies should be targeting.
Kagawa is a sublime passer of the ball, has fantastic creative vision and has a respectable amount of Premier League experience having played for Manchester United previously.
The playmaker played 38 times in England’s top-flight for Man United and would be able to hit the ground running if he rocked up at the Magpies in January.
Kagawa registered seven assists, while scoring seven, in 27 appearances last season, including getting two assists in the Champions League, and would clearly boost the Magpies’ attacking options significantly.
Therefore the Magpies must at least enquire about Kagawa as if they snapped him up then St James Park would be drooling at such a ridiculously good talent rocking up.
