Newcastle United must snap up Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almiron as their goal scoring problems would be a thing of the past with him to call upon.

The Sun reported in July that the Magpies had been speaking to the player’s representation other a potential £10million deal for him, with his MLS side perhaps open to considering selling him in the New Year.

However it then seemed like a another frustrationing case of the Magpies missing out as the Daily Mirror reported in October that Arsenal were close to wrapping up a £15million deal for Almiron.

Yet it seems that isn’t as guaranteed to happen as the newspaper’s report suggested as TYC Sports has since claimed that Atlanta United could sell their star man to West Ham in order to fund their pursuit of Gonzalo Martinez.

Based on this report it means the Magpies still have a chance to win the race for Almiron’s services and something they simply must do.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has an impressive goal record this year as he has scored 12 goals for Atlanta United in 2018 in his 33 appearances.

Almiron has also put chances on a plate for his teammates, using his fantastic creative vision, as he has also registered 13 assists this year.

Given that the attacking midfielder could be sold by Atlanta United and clearly no Premier League team has definitely captured him as of yet, then he is fair gain for the Magpies to swoop in and sign.

The Magpies’ inability to be clinical in front of goal this season has contributed to them not racking up a win and has lead to them sitting bottom of the Premier League.

Therefore given that a goalscorer needs to arrive in January to ensure the Magpies’ keep their Premier League status, then even Mike Ashley won’t turn his nose up at getting a clinical finisher like Almiron for under £20million, based on the price points mentioned above.

This is because the Magpies owner is no doubt aware the club is worth more if kept in the Premier League.

So this all means that the Magpies must snap up Almiron as he exactly the player they need, and he could be about to be put on the market.
