If there is one thing that Newcastle United need at the moment, it is someone who can provide that cutting edge in attack.
United certainly proved that they were capable of going forward after going 2-0 up against Manchester United last weekend, but they must learn to provide more of a cutting edge.
Teams do not fear what Newcastle have to offer up front, and this will need to change if they want to secure their survival this season.
One way of providing that cutting edge is by hijacking any move Everton make for attacking midfielder Samir Nasri, who has demonstrated how potent he can be going forward in the past.
The Daily Mail report that the Toffees are eyeing up a move for the two-times Premier League winner, but this is a move that United must take advantage of for themselves.
Newcastle’s wingers have hardly been the most effective recently, and their attacking midfield could do with some extra reinforcements.
Free agent Nasri is the answer to all of their problems – as he demonstrated for Arsenal and Manchester City in the past, he possesses a technical ability that can terrorise the majority of defences.
Returning to the Premier League is just what he needs to rediscover his best days, and there could not be a better club than Newcastle to help him do that.
The Magpies lack that bit of experience in the midfield, and as well we all know, Nasri can provide heaps of that for Rafa Benitez.
An additional creative player is just what Newcastle need at the moment, especially as they have been struggling for goals of late.
The likes of Yoshinori Muto need the sufficient service in order to start banging in the goals for United, and Nasri is infamous for providing lethal crosses.
Newcastle must hijack a move for Nasri in January, as he could just be the player that could provide that extra dimension in attack needed to help the team thrive.
