Loaning out young players can often prove to be a wise decision by top Premier League managers – and Newcastle United need to take full advantage.

After all, it gives the player in question the experience they need in order to thrive and come back as a better player, and even have a shot at the first team.

According to the Chronicle, Blackburn Rovers are keeping tabs on Newcastle United midfielder Adam Wilson, and if Rafa Benitez is to make one wise decision in January’s transfer window, it would be to loan out the young ace.

At the moment it is glaringly obvious that he is not going to be getting any first team action any time soon, so the fair thing to do would be to provide with regular game time that he undoubtedly craves as an 18-year-old.

Playing for team like Blackburn on loan would do wonders for his progress as an individual – and Benitez will only heed the benefits upon the ace’s return as he takes him from the under-23s to the senior side.

He will come back a much better player, and Benitez can prove that he is willing to give youth players a chance by utilising Wilson when he comes back.

Wilson is no doubt relatively unknown to the Newcastle masses, but that will soon change if he makes the most of the chance at Blackburn if he is loaned out.

At 18, he is only going to get better and better, and Benitez will be the one laughing when Wilson comes back and takes Newcastle by storm.

He has already made seven appearances for the reserves this season, providing two assists and one goal – which is a promising statistic for someone of his age.

Nevertheless, a loan to Blackburn is exactly what he needs come January – and Benitez must ensure that this happens.
