A number of Newcastle United supporters have been reacting with excitement to attacker Yoshinori Muto’s inclusion in the team’s starting line up to face Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
The Magpies host the Seagulls at St James’ Park desperate to pick up their first victory of the season, and the Newcastle fans clearly feel Muto is the man to deliver it to them.
The 5ft 10in Japan international [Source: Transfermarkt] opened his account for the club against Manchester United last time out, and the Toon Army clearly feel he is capable of doing the same against Chris Hughton’s men.

Having seen Muto’s performance against United last time out you can see why the Newcastle supporters are so excited to see their man in action again today. The Japan international was superb against the Red Devils, constantly hustling and harrying the hosts defence at Old Trafford and scoring a wonderful goal past David de Gea. he gave the Magpies attack an energy that had been woefully absent in the team’s first seven games of the season. His presence resulted in his fellow attacker Ayoze Perez delivering his finest performance of the season last time out as well. It would have been criminal for Rafael Benitez to drop Muto for Joselu today, and it’s good to see that the Spaniard has identified what went well against United and has gone for the same strike partnership again today. Whether it will be enough for the team to come out on top against Brighton remains to be seen, but the fans obviously feel Benitez has made a good start by selecting Muto.
