Rafa Benitez must hand Newcastle United winger Adam Wilson his first taste of Premier League football after the international break.
The Spanish manager needs to find a way to improve his side’s attack threat even in the slightest and needs to get St James Park cheering again.
Wilson, 18, may never have experienced senior football as of yet but he has the raw potential to make an impact even if just handed a cameo role.
The pacey left-sided winger has been in terrific form in the Magpies’ youth set-up this season and shone in his five Premier League two appearances, racking up one goal and one assist in the process.
Wilson would take on the Premier League with no fear, just like many eager young starlets waiting to snatch opportunities, and this will aid him in his quest to make a difference.
Benitez has opted to use wingers Jacob Murphy and Christian Atsu from the bench this season in order to kick-start his side’s attack in games, but both have failed to deliver the goods for one reason or another.
So why not take a chance on an in-form youngster who could really take a few people by surprise.
While the Premier League is a huge step-up for the teenager, given that Championship side Blackburn are thought to be sniffing around his services (Source: Chronicle) then his talent is obviously worth taking a risk on.
Wilson is the type of exciting player who always tries to make things happen and due to him being a product of the club’s academy the moment he steps on to the field for the Magpies, St James Park will erupt with a big cheer.
Also with the Magpies not set to be facing any side likely to be competing for a top-six finish in the league in their next six games after the international break, it’s the perfect time for Benitez to give the Premier League its first taste of the promising talent.
If he does this then it could be a stroke of genius by the Magpies boss which will see St James Park roar and a new potential star born.
