Some Newcastle United fans heavily criticised midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung for his performance during the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.
Several Magpies supporters tweeted their verdict on the 6ft 1in tall midfielder’s latest display (Source: Soccerbase) with one boldly claiming that Ki was one of the worst players they have seen.
Ki was making his second Premier League appearance for Rafa Benitez’s side against Man City after joining from Swansea City in the summer on a free transfer.

Sublime by Dubravka, who pulls magnificent save after magnificent save after #NUFC are stretched.
Meanwhile though, what is Ki doing? He’s such a lazy player. He’s strolling about the pitch with zero effort

It’s no surprise Ki is hopeless…..he has been for the last three seasons – Longstaff would do a better job #nufc

OPINION
This is painful reading if you’re Ki as clearly the midfielder has not managed to win over supporters just yet, far from it in fact. It seems if fans aren’t slamming the midfielder for being sloppy and lazy then they’re questioning what it is he adds to the team. With one fan even comparing the midfielder to Jack Colback then it’s clear Ki has some work to do in order to prove himself at St James Park. The 29-year-old did have an awful outing against Manchester City but it’s always a struggle to excel against Pep Guardiola’s side when you consider how much world class talent it possess. However what is more worrying is that Ki also was poor against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night especially when you consider his experience. With one supporter claiming that even promising youngster Sean Longstaff could do a better job then perhaps Ki needs to up his game or find himself hardly playing for his new side in the near future.
