Some Newcastle United fans destroyed attacker Ayoze Perez after watching his display during their side’s 2-1 defeat courtesy of Arsenal on Saturday.
The 25-year-old attacker started the game against the Gunners at St James Park and while he covered a lot of ground, several fans took to social media in order to criticise him.
One fan tweeted during Saturday’s that Perez was the most frustrating player they had watched and that he honestly caused them to have fits of rage due to his performance.
The Spanish attacker has featured in all of his side’s league games so far but based on the reaction of some Magpies supporters that needs to change.
Nothing But Newcastle has rounded up some of the best tweets below:
I know it's a factor but the players don't look like they care. Kennedy looks hopeless, diame awful. Perez hopeless. It goes on and on and on. #nufc

Perez is working hard but his timing of when to release the ball is absolutely atrocious. #NUFC

Rondon and Muto for Joselu and Perez ASAP with Shelvey replacing Hayden providing Lascelles doesn't have to go off injured. #NUFC

OPINION
Perez seems to turn on his ability at the tail-end of seasons, deliver goals, earn plaudits and be linked with a high-profile move away. Yet it’s getting to a stage where the 25-year-old needs to perform across a whole campaign in order to be seen as a worthwhile player at the club. Perez’s display against the Gunners summed up all his flaws and all his strengths perfectly as he was a frustrating figure. As one Magpies fan rightly stated there’s no denying that the attacker works hard for his side but there too many occasions where his shot his release of the ball is very below the standard it should be. There is only so far hard work can take you and if Perez performs like that again then is hard work will only see him take a seat on the bench as his quality is where it should be. It’s hard to know if Rafa Benitez can work his magic on the attacker in order to get him firing on all cylinders as he has been unable to make him consistent despite working with him for a couple of seasons now.
