Danny Higginbotham predicted Leicester City to beat Newcastle United on Saturday when the two meet at St James Park.

The Sky Sports pundit, regularly seen on the broadcaster’s dedicated sports news channel, shared that he thought the Magpies biggest problem was putting the ball in the back of the net.

Higginbotham than proceeded to highlight the Foxes’ ability to be a threat on the counter-attack before backing them to take all three points from the sides’ upcoming meeting.

“Newcastle’s biggest problem is putting the ball in the back of the net, I don’t think they’ve won yet this season, had a few draws,” said Higginbotham on Sky Sports News (Thursday September 27th, 11:54am).

“Leicester City will be happy as they bounced back from the defeat at Bournemouth with the win at home against Huddersfield, I think Leicester on the counter-attack will be a threat.

“So going for an away win.”

OPINION

It’s hard to argue with Higginbotham’s prediction as the Magpies are terrible in front of goal currently and Leicester City do look dangerous on the counter-attack. It’s easy to imagine the Foxes sitting back in the early stages of the game before punishing the Magpies by launching forward in numbers in order to snatch goals that will get the three points on Saturday. The Magpies in their outing against Arsenal this season crumbled once going behind and they can’t let the same happen against Leicester City. Given the attacking threat the Foxes currently possess, they do seem to destined to score at St James Park this weekend but the important thing is how the Magpies respond to conceding. Rafa Benitez has several talented players to call upon and while they haven’t delivered the goods so far this season, there would be no better time for them to get their act together than Saturday against the Foxes.
