Newcastle United are reportedly poised to have striker Salomon Rondon join their ranks, but there is no harm in also signing a player who is known in Germany for their prolific goal tally.

Enter Munas Dabbur, who currently plays as a forward for Bundesliga side RB Salzburg.

His name will be relatively unknown to many, but the Israeli striker has had an impressive season during the last campaign, and it is surprising that he has not had a trail of clubs after his signature.

The Daily Mail report on their live blog [5/08, 10.26am] that Crystal Palace are in talks over a transfer for the 26-year-old – however, Newcastle must not let the discussions be prolonged any further, and they must spoil their plans to sign the hitman.

There is one reason why the Eagles are so keen on his services – he tore up the 2017/2018 campaign with an impressive 29 goals, which is a statistic that could rival the world-class forwards that grace the Premier League.

United have signed one striker in this window in the shape of Yoshinori Muto, and he looks like he is about to be joined by Championship ace Salomon Rondon, according to The Sun, – and it is known that both forwards do not have the most prolific records of being on target.

The Magpies need a striker capable of getting into the double figures, and that man is Dabbur – his electric eye for goal will only bring the best out of either player as they begin their Newcastle careers.

His potential combination with either player would undoubtedly cause boss Rafa Benitez to rub his hands together with excitement, and the result would possibly leave him purring with anticipation.

Newcastle must act quickly to snap up the goal machine, or face the prospect of losing him to their rivals.
