So he's spent £90m on a store that's losing money but can't invest in a Newcastle team that could quadruple his investment. I hate this bloke. #ashleyout #NUFC

That’s where all funds generated by Newcastle have gone to buy house of Fraser and mike Ashley had clearly been working on that deal and left Newcastle alone cause he doesn’t care #NUFC #Ashleyout

OPINION
Newcastle fans have not taken the billionaire’s latest business proposal in the finest of manners, leaving the supporters livid that Ashley has flashed the cash for House of Fraser after the club ended the transfer window yesterday having spent very little on new players. In fact, the club closed the window having made more than £20m in profit. However, this has left Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez filled with frustration as the club only managed to bring in Fabian Schar for £3m, Federico Fernandez for £6m, alongside a number of transfers with undisclosed fees and a couple of loan deals. If the Sports Direct owner is willing to spend so much money on buying a company then the question should be asked of why he cannot supply Rafael Benitez with the transfer funds he has been craving to develop a squad that could have built on their top half finish in the Premier League last season. The failure to back Benitez could leave Newcastle in a dangerous position regarding relegation, with the Magpies set for their second year in the top flight after winning the Championship two years ago.
