This picture, which seemingly revealed Rondon’s squad number, had one fan make a reference to legendary Magpies attacker Alan Shearer and state that Rondon knew what to do now he had joined the club.
Nothing But Newcastle has rounded up several tweets about a section of Magpies supporters after the club confirmed the arrival of Rondon:

OPINION
The transfer saga that has felt like a roller-coaster ride is finally over and the Magpies have a new No.9 to show for it now that a deal has been officially completed. It seems Magpies supporters are thrilled that Rondon is finally wearing the black and white stripes with one even tweeting that he knows what to do given that he is wearing the famous No.9 jersey. While one fan is slightly over-excited, or sarcastic, when they claim that the Magpies are winning the league, Rondon will surely improve the club’s chances when it comes to finish in a decent position in the upcoming campaign.
