Newcastle United have reportedly been quoted £30million as the price they would need to pay to sign Chelsea flyer Kenedy on a permanent deal, and some Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news.
As reported by the Chronicle, the club have held initial talks over a deal to bring the Brazilian back to St. James’ Park after he spent six months on loan on Tyneside last season.
The regional newspaper claim that Chelsea are seeking £30million for the 22-year-old, who joined them in an £8m deal from Fluminese in 2015.
A section of saddened Newcastle fans has now taken to Twitter to react to the news, with many seemingly resigned to not signing the flyer after learning of Chelsea’s high price tag.
Nothing but Newcastle have rounded up some of the best tweets:

So Chelsea paid roughly 7m for him then loaned him to watford where he made 1 appearance then he came to us and looked a good player and they now want 30m! I wouldn't pay more than 20m he hasn't done enough to command a 30m fee #nufc

I wouldn't call it hardball. In this day and age that's a very reasonable price for someone like him. The club just seems to be unwilling to spend what is needed.

OPINION
Newcastle fans are understandably downhearted after this latest update, with there being little to no chance of the club coughing up this kind of money for any player in the world. However, reports elsewhere have suggested that a loan with an option to buy deal is potentially on the cards for the Magpies, and that should give fans some hope amid a quiet summer so far. Chelsea’s willingness to enter talks over the Brazilian suggests that he is not part of their long-term plans, and that will inevitably play into Newcastle’s hands as the summer goes on. Watch this space.
