Some Newcastle United fans are conflicted after the reported sale price of Aleksandar Mitrovic has been revealed.
As reported by Sky Sports News, Newcastle have accepted a £27million offer from Fulham for the striker, with £22million upfront and an extra £5million in add-ons.
The Serbian forward spent the second half of last season on loan at the Cottagers, helping them to secure Premier League promotion via the playoffs.
He scored 12 goals in 20 appearances in his stint at Craven Cottage last season.
One Newcastle fan said there was nothing to celebrate in selling Mitrovic to Fulham.
Nothing but Newcastle have rounded up the best tweets from a section of Toon fans on the reported fee for Mitrovic:
I'll give him a chance but I'm not hopeful, I don't see how he's any better than mitrovic minus the attitude. Mitro will come good I also think selling to Fulham is foolish

If we’re getting £22 million plus £5 million in add on’s for Mitrovic, can we aim a little higher than Rondon?
3 strikers I want to see #NUFC go for: Giroud, Welbeck, Abraham

£27 Million for Mitrovic is genuinely good business….if it's reinvested. #NUFC

Just out of interest and not digging anyone out, is Rondon any better than Mitrovic? For me I'm not sure #NUFC #Rafalution

Regardless of opinions on Mitrovic, £22m is buttons in today's market for a young, international centre forward. Also, the money won't be spent. Nothing to celebrate here… #nufc

£22m for Mitrovic is actually good business by #NUFC.
A profit of £7m on a player who was more interested in badge-kissing than actual effort.
He was never worth the hype. It’ll be interesting to see how much of this fee is re-invested in strengthening the squad…#Mitrovic

OPINION
It seems some Toon fans are very conflicted about the sale of star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, especially to a Premier League relegation rival. This transfer could come back to haunt Rafael Benitez next season, even if it does bring in a few extra million for a couple of signings towards the end of this window, they aren’t going to buy anyone better than the Serbian striker. If they sell the Serbian international and bring in Salomon Rondon and Yoshinori Muto, that’s replacing one quality striker with two mediocre ones. It simply doesn’t make sense to sell your best striker. Magpies fans will hope that Benitez spends the proceeds of this transfer very wisely over the next few weeks.
