Newcastle midfielder Jack Colback has reportedly completed a loan move to Championship side Nottingham Forest, and some fans are glad to see the back of him.

Guardian journalist Daniel Taylor claimed that his loan move had gone through on Friday and that it was impressive business for Forest.

Colback arrived from bitter rivals Sunderland in 2014 on a free transfer and has made 102 appearances for the club.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Nottingham Forest where he made 16 Championship appearances.

Now it looks like he’s set to return to the City Ground on loan with an option for Forest to buy him next summer.

One fan said that he’ll be glad he’s gone and another said “Thank god”, although one said that Newcastle’s squad just keeps getting thinner and thinner.

Here are the best reactions from Newcastle fans to his imminent exit:

OPINION

It might be seen as impressive business for Nottingham Forest but Colback had no future at Newcastle. He’s only got one year left on his contract and this will see him through to the end, but some Newcastle fans are concerned they’ll be subsidising his wages while he’s playing at Forest. However, even if they’re paying half, that’s still £17.5k-a-week that Newcastle will be saving. Every penny counts at St James’ Park at the moment and Newcastle fans will hope that with Colback’s exit and the imminent departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic, that players will start arriving soon.
